Notes

'Inca' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Inca') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The tall stems carry large, single, bright scarlet-rose blooms with a double row of petals and yellow stamens. Col. Jesse C. Nicholls bred it as a seedling of 'Mikado'.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Blanket flower, and Royal fern.
