Notes

'Indigo Spires' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Indigo Spires') is a perennial for borders, specimen planting, and mass planting in larger gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. Deep violet purple flower spikes with yellow keels open in summer and attract bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Once established, this plant dislikes being moved, so pick its spot with care.

Pairs well with Autumn Fire sedum, Purple lovegrass, and Ornamental onion.
