Notes
'Invincibelle Spirit' smooth hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens 'Invincibelle Spirit') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and forms a clump about 35 to 47 inches tall and wide, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It also tolerates salt.
Pairs well with Cinnamon fern, Gooseneck loosestrife, and Northern bayberry.
