Notes
'James Backhouse' snowdrop (Galanthus 'James Backhouse') is a bulb for woodland gardens, naturalizing, and early color. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. The large white flowers hang down and have a broad green inverted V on the inner petals. Blooms often push through the snow in late winter, and some flowers form oddly shaped or extra petals.
Pairs well with Dog's tooth violet, Francee hosta, Western sword fern, and Spanish bluebell.
