Notes

'James Boyd' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'James Boyd') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double blooms open in late spring with a delicious fragrance and fade from flesh-pink to blush-white with age. Stiff stems hold the flowers upright, and the center opens flat for a unique inverted conical shape. George C. Thurlow bred it.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Sedge, and Blanket flower.
