Notes

'Janet' peony (Paeonia 'Janet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it, and it bears large, fragrant, full double blooms in deep cerise red. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Nodding onion, and Christmas fern.
