Notes

Japanese thimbleweed (Eriocapitella hupehensis) is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It forms a clumping mound of green leaves and grows 18 to 30 inches tall. Pink, purple, or white flowers draw bees. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Jeana garden phlox, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Susan magnolia, and Pink Impression tulip.
