Notes

'Prinz Heinrich' Japanese thimbleweed (Eriocapitella hupehensis 'Prinz Heinrich') is a perennial for borders, low maintenance gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deep rose flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Little Carlow tartarian aster, Hardy geranium, Miss willmott's ghost, and Ostrich fern.
