Notes

Jepson's Oregon-grape (Berberis dictyota) is a shrub for hedges, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. It is evergreen and drought tolerant, and yellow flowers appear from mid winter to mid spring. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. You can use it to fill a dry corner.

Pairs well with Shenandoah switchgrass, Elfin mother of thyme, and Globemaster allium.
