'Jessie' peony (Paeonia 'Jessie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The deep red, fragrant flowers have a Japanese form and great lasting quality. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Dense blazing star, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Annabelle hydrangea.
