Notes

'Jewel' summer bearing raspberry (Rubus occidentalis 'Jewel') is a fruit for the food garden, pollinator garden, and woodland edge. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its arching canes reach 24 to 36 inches tall and wide, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. You can expect blooms in spring and again in summer.

Pairs well with Woodland strawberry, Thyme, Southern Comfort coral bells, and Berggarten sage.
