Notes

'Jin Zhu' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Jin Zhu') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The upright plants reach about 26 inches and need no support. Medium violet-red flowers bloom in mid to late spring and carry a fragrance. Golden yellow staminodes form a ball at the center of each bloom.

Pairs well with Sedge, Cheerfulness daffodil, Aromatic aster, and Sensitive fern.
