Notes

'Joyful Desire' peony (Paeonia 'Joyful Desire') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roger F. Anderson bred it, and the soft yellow blooms are cupped and ruffled around a boss of gold stamens. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The plant stands upright and does not need support.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Queen of Night tulip.
