'Judy Becker' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Judy Becker') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, rose-type flowers are a rich dark red and open from mid-season to late. Sturdy stems reach about 30 inches tall. Hans Peter Sass bred it.
Pairs well with Brown-eyed Susan, Cinnamon fern, and Tall fescue.
