Notes

'Karl Herbst' rose (Rosa 'Karl Herbst') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Its medium red blooms are fragrant and attract bees. They open in late spring, again in summer, and once more in early autumn. Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II bred it, and it was introduced in 1950.

Pairs well with Purple top, Society garlic, and Sasanqua camellia.
