Notes

'Katy' apple (Malus domestica 'Katy') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating, juicing, and cooking. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Katy is an early-season apple that ripens in late August and early September. It blooms white in spring and draws bees. Swedish breeders at Balsgard developed it in 1947.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Prairie dropseed, and Pink Impression tulip.
