Notes
Keeled garlic (Allium carinatum) is a bulb that grows 12 to 24 inches tall. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Reddish violet flowers open in mid to late spring and again in early to late summer. The blooms keep their color when dried. Plant it in multiples of 3, 5, 7, or more, and trim the leaves if they die back just before flowering.
Pairs well with Tree peony, Blue fescue, and Marsh mallow.
