Notes

'Ken Janeck' rhododendron (Rhododendron yakushimanum 'Ken Janeck') is a shrub for borders, containers, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. This evergreen has pink to apple blossom pink flowers in early to late spring and early to late summer. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms, and the shrub grows slowly into a rounded mound.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Woodland phlox, and Japanese forest grass.
