Notes

'Koichiro Wada' rhododendron (Rhododendron yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada') is a shrub for borders, containers, woodland gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Its dense, evergreen habit gives you year-round structure. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It blooms in early to late spring, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Woodland phlox, and Japanese maple.
