Notes

'Kerstin' heather (Calluna vulgaris 'Kerstin') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It stays evergreen and grows at a moderate pace with an ascending habit. Bees visit the flowers in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Japanese barberry, and Bristlecone pine.
