Notes

'Kinlochruel' heather (Calluna vulgaris 'Kinlochruel') is an evergreen shrub for borders, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and bees visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer. Its ascending habit grows at a moderate pace.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Hinoki cypress, and Greig's tulip.
