Notes
'Kingsblood' tulip (Tulipa 'Kingsblood') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Red flowers open in early to late spring. The plants grow 12 to 24 inches tall, so the blooms make good cut stems for a vase.
Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Geranium daffodil, Queen of Night tulip, and Ballade tulip.
