Notes

'Knight of the Thistle' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Knight of the Thistle') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers open crimson in mid season with purplish staminodes edged in yellow. Kelway bred it, and the medium size plant spreads.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, Sedge, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
