Notes

'Korean Fire' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Korean Fire') is a shrub for borders, containers, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a tall, columnar evergreen with red blooms in winter and spring. Bees and birds visit it, and it tolerates salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Lady fern, American hornbeam, and Boxwood.
