Notes

'Kowhai Gold' peony (Paeonia 'Kowhai Gold') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Yellow flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Derek Irvine bred it. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Hardy geranium, Nelly Moser clematis, and Damask rose.
