Notes
'La Brillante' peony (Paeonia 'La Brillante') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The full-double blooms are bright cherry and fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Cut a few stems to bring the scent indoors.
Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
