Notes

'La Tendresse' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'La Tendresse') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Crousse bred it, and the fragrant double blooms open in mid to late spring. The cream flowers have crimson flecks and age to white. The buds sometimes open sideways or stay closed, so bloom can be unreliable.

Pairs well with Carnaval De Nice tulip, Cinnamon fern, and Common toadflax.
