Notes

'Labolas' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Labolas') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The crimson blooms have a Japanese type form, with a center of narrow petal-like parts. Cut a few stems for a vase, and the plant will keep looking good in the border. Kelway bred it in 1925.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Prairie Sun rudbeckia, and Blue grama.
