Notes

'Lace and Braid' peony (Paeonia 'Lace and Braid') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Orangey creamy pink flowers open in early to late spring, and Derek Irvine bred it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Lady of the snows, Lily, and Mountain laurel.
