Notes
Larkspur (Delphinium ajacis) is an annual for borders, pollinator gardens, and annual beds. Cool weather suits it, and it can take a light frost. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Blue, pink, or white flowers open from early to late summer on stems that reach 24 to 48 inches tall. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Blanket flower, Hollyhock, and Celosia.
Native range
Mediterranean.
