Notes
'Le Jour' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Le Jour') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows tall and upright with strong, erect stems and good foliage. The large white blooms open in mid spring around a ring of golden yellow stamens. Egbert Jerome Shaylor bred it.
Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Smooth aster, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
