Notes

'Le Noir' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Le Noir') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It has a medium growth habit, so it fits well in the middle of a border. The single flowers are crimson, and they make a bold color accent in the garden and in a vase. Egbert Jerome Shaylor bred it.

Pairs well with Minuteman hosta, Sedge, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Smooth hydrangea.
