Notes

'Leading Lady' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Leading Lady') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant double blooms open white with a creamy pink glow in the center and fade to pure white. Strong, stiff stems hold the flowers about thirty inches tall. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1955.

Pairs well with Gooseneck loosestrife, Smooth aster, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
