Notes

'Lewis Flax' prairie flax (Linum lewisii 'Lewis Flax') is a perennial for borders, meadows, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Cornflower, Indian Summer rudbeckia, and Stargazer lily.
