Notes

Perennial flax (Linum perenne) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, cottage gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. Sky blue flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The blue-green foliage forms a creeping clump that tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Gaura, Blue-eyed grass, and Ornamental onion.

Native range

Asia and Europe.
