Notes
'Linearis Polydactyla' wood fern (Dryopteris 'Linearis Polydactyla') is a fern for shade gardens, woodland settings, and accent planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade, average moisture, and loamy or clay soil. Its fronds are brown or copper when new and mature to green, and the plant grows 36 to 48 inches tall and wide. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread at a moderate pace.
Pairs well with Foam flower, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Little brown jug.
