Notes

Lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) is a shrub for borders and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. The evergreen leaves are leathery and oval. Pinkish, nodding, bell-shaped flowers bloom in small clusters and are followed by red berries. The berries often stay on the plant over winter and turn sweeter by snowmelt.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Cinnamon fern, and Sedge.
