Notes

'Lodi' apple (Malus domestica 'Lodi') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for cooking and juice, and the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station bred it in 1924. It is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. The fruit keeps about 1 week.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Kentucky bluegrass.
