Notes

'Lois Elaine Laning' peony (Paeonia 'Lois Elaine Laning') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deep brownish-rose, fully double flowers open from early to late spring on tall, erect plants and attract butterflies. Chris Laning bred it. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Foxglove, and Korean spice viburnum.
