Notes

'Long Island' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Long Island') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Milky white guard petals surround a center of shorter creamy petals. The double flowers are medium sized and open early and in great numbers on stems of medium height. Walter J. Guille bred it.

Pairs well with Dog's tooth violet, Royal fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Dutchman's breeches.
