Notes

'Lord Baltimore' aloalo (Hibiscus 'Lord Baltimore') is a perennial for borders, rain gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Crimson red flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer. Plants reach 48 to 60 inches tall.

Pairs well with Virginia sweetspire, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Ostrich fern.
