Notes

'Midnight Marvel' aloalo (Hibiscus 'Midnight Marvel') is a shrub for borders, rain gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Carmine-red flowers open in early to late summer. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and the shrub grows 36 to 48 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Ostrich fern, and Dawn redwood.
