Notes

'LSU Purple' fig (Ficus carica 'LSU Purple') is a fruit for borders, containers, and food gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. The figs have glossy reddish burgundy to deep purple skin and sweet strawberry-colored flesh. It can bear fruit at an early age and give multiple crops with enough heat. Grow it in a hot, protected spot or in a container.

Pairs well with Pineapple guava, Lemon thyme, and Thai basil.
