Notes
'H. V. Machin' rose (Rosa 'H. V. Machin') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The fragrant scarlet-crimson blooms have darker veining and attract bees. It blooms in late spring, again in summer, and into early autumn. Alexander Dickson II bred it in 1915.
Pairs well with Sarah Bernhardt peony, The President clematis, and Fountain grass.
