Notes

'Madame Chiang Kai-Shek' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Chiang Kai-Shek') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It blooms early, ahead of many other peonies. The fragrant yellow flowers have a strong yellow center and sit on strong stems above compact, dark green foliage.

Pairs well with Hosta, Carnaval De Nice tulip, Royal fern, and Knapweed.
