Notes

'Madame Manchet' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Manchet') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Auguste Dessert bred it. The large double blooms are pale old-rose pink with purple shading at the base of the petals. They open late in the season and have a rounded, incurved shape on stiff, upright stems.

Pairs well with Columbine, Butterfly milkweed, and Japanese spirea.
