Notes

'Magdalena' peony (Paeonia 'Magdalena') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, semi-double white flowers have ruffled petals and a light pink center, and the compact plants need no support. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
