Notes

Magnolia (Magnolia garrettii) is an evergreen tree for specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It can reach 40 to 60 feet tall and 30 to 50 feet wide, so give it plenty of room. Purple-red flowers open in early to mid summer.

Pairs well with Redwood, Loquat, and Jasmine.

Native range

Thailand, Vietnam, and China.
