Notes
'Mahogany' spotted beebalm (Monarda 'Mahogany') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Wine red flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The fragrant plants reach up to 36 inches tall.
Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Big bluestem, Ostrich fern, and Chokeberry.
