Notes

'Mankato' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mankato') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single flowers open early in spring and show rich pure white petals. Green carpels with pink tips sit at the center of each bloom. Archie M. Brand bred it.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Balloon flower, Sensitive fern, and Little Beauty tulip.
